Seri Negara: Charting
the Course of Merdeka
Developed in collaboration with historians, academicians, and exhibition design professionals, the gallery traces Malaysia’s journey from British colonial administration to independence and nation-building across six immersive spaces on two floors.

The Walls Speak
Seri Negara becomes the narrator in a short cinematic film, guiding visitors through five symbolic spaces – from the colonial lawn to the balcony where a nation’s future came into view.

People, Power, and Place
Covering 1900 to 1948, this gallery raises the voices of Malaya’s diverse communities through interactive maps, a sound station, a digital bookshelf, dioramas, and archival footage.

Merdeka and Nationhood
Watch Malaya’s constitutional turning points on a large dual-LED screen and examine archival documents on a replica of the signing table where, on 5 August 1957, the Independence Agreement was finalised.

From the Negaraku and Jalur Gemilang to the formation of Malaysia in 1963, the final gallery celebrates cultural resilience, national symbols, and the shared aspirations that continue to shape a united future.

Family Combo pricing is available for Malaysian visitors only. Children and youth must be aged 6–17 years. A maximum of three children per combo package applies.

Verified STR recipients and their registered household members are entitled to one complimentary visit to Galeri Seri Negara per year under the Khazanah Nasional initiative.
Subsidised Admission
Complimentary Visits for STR Sara Bulanan Recipients
As part of the Khazanah Nasional initiative, verified recipients of Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) Sara Bulanan and their registered household members are entitled to one complimentary admission to Galeri Seri Negara per year.
This initiative runs from 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027. Complimentary tickets are issued at RMO upon successful verification. Advance online booking is required.
Who Is Eligible
- Active recipients of Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) who also receive Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) Bulanan.
- Registered household members of the recipient.
Household members must visit together with the primary recipient.
How to Claim
- Select a visit slot and complete the online form with your name, MyKad number, date of birth, and details of accompanying household members, if any, at least 5 days before your visit.
- Receive a confirmation email containing the QR-coded ticket(s) upon successful verification.
- Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled time and present your QR-coded ticket(s) (digital or printed) together with the MyKad/MyKid of all visitors for verification at the counter.
Data Privacy Notice: All personal data collected will be securely retained by the Management solely for verification and record-keeping purposes. All MyKad and MyKid data will be permanently deleted at the end of each calendar year.
